Abstract:

Introduction: Critical thinking is a skill that learner builds mental frameworks by receiving key content through a mental process. Given the importance of effective education and the impact of critical thinking on it also, the short history of study in this area, this research has been done to measure the level of critical thinking skilsl in medical students of Hamadan university of medical sciences. Methodology: In this cross-sectional study conducted in 1398, 218 medical students of Hamadan university of medical sciences were examined by census method using the California B questionnaire. Data were analyzed using SPSS at 95% confidence level and analysis of variance and Independent t test. Result: The mean of total scores in this test was 12. 5± 3. 8 from the total score of 34. There are significant differences in the total scores and sub-skills of analysis, inference and deductive reasoning at the input of different years (in all cases p <0. 001). There is no significant relationship between the scores obtained with age, gender and entrance exam area. Analysis score in different quotas and total score in free quota are significantly different from veterans quota (p =0. 036 and P =0. 011), respectively). Total score (r=-0. 14 and P =0. 033), inference (r=-0. 240 and P =0. 001) and deductive reasoning (r=-0. 17 and P =0. 011) have a significant inverse correlation with the entrance exam rank. There is a correlation between basic science test score and inference score (r=0. 2 and P = 0. 012) and deductive reasoning (r=0. 17 and P. value=0. 035) and between pre-internship test score and evaluation scores (r=0. 35 and P =0. 031), inference (r=0. 36 and P =0. 029), deductive reasoning (r=0. 35 and P =0. 030) and total score (r=0. 4 and P = 0. 013). Conclusion: Due to the low total score and scores of the sub-domains of critical thinking skills, it seems necessary to teach this skill among students.

Abstract:

Background and Objective: Studying in the medical field is a stressful condition, and the present study aimed to evaluate this issue. Materials and Methods: This cross-sectional study was carried out on a total of 93 medical interns according to census data. The scores of Hospital Stress Scale were classified as low (35-69), intermediate (70-104), and severe (105-175) stress. The data were analyzed by descriptive statistics indices using SPSS software (version 16). Results: Out of 93 interns, 36 (38. 7%) and 57 (61. 3%) participants were male and female, respectively. The mean value of job stress was 109. 9± 10 within the range of 86-129. According to the obtained results, 30 (32. 3%) and 63 (67. 7%) subjects had moderate and severe stress, respectively. The score of severe stress was higher in women than that reported for men (66. 7% and 64. 69%; P=0. 780). The relationships between weekly working hours, working shifts, chemical factors, and biological factors with the stress score were positive and significant. In addition, the relationships between weekly working hours with communication with superior and colleague and inadequacy were negative and significant. Conclusion: The interns have high occupational stress, and female students and individuals with longer working hours experience higher levels of occupational stress.

Abstract:

This was a cross-sectional study to evaluate the degree of awareness and practice of oral medicine by all final-year medical students of Hamadan university of medical sciences (69 cases) in 2010. The data was analyzed by chi-square test and T test. According to our findings, the level of knowledge and practice were found to be insufficient in 58 and 55.1% of medical interns, respectively. There was a statistically significant relationship between the level of awareness and practice (P=0.04). Re-evaluation of medical curriculum regarding the oral medicine seems to be necessary for medical students.

The aim of this study was to determine the mental health status and related stressors among Hamadan medical sciences university Students. Methods & Materials: In this cross-sectional study, 180 medical sciences' students were selected using stratified sampling method. Data were collected using the Stressor questionnaire and the SCL90. Data were analyzed by SPSS.Results: The study showed that 57.1 percent of the students were female. The ages ranged 18-22. Most of the students (94.8 percent) were single. Most of the students had no mental disorders (66.1%). Mild and moderate mental disorders were 29.4 and 4.4%, respectively. Mean of mental health score was 72.99 (±46.02). Mental health status was correlated with marital status, concerns about family, changes in religious activities, concerns about the future, working in the hospitals, problems with friends, sexual problems, and the number of experienced stressors (P<0.05).Conclusion: Experiencing stressors threatens students' mental health status and provide a potential cause for mental disorders.

Abstract:

Introduction: The expansion of a more sustainable world is the most obvious logical consequence of higher education efforts. Almost every higher educational institution has built its mission on goals beyond the creation and dissemination of knowledge. The overall purpose of this study was to investigate the impact of sustainable universities on intellectual capital with the fourth generation approach in macro medical universities in region one in order to provide a model. Methods: The present applied research was conducted in 2021 with a qualitative and quantitative approach. The statistical population in the qualitative section was 16 people being selected using the purposive sampling method, and in the quantitative section, 320 people were selected as a statistical sample based on Cochran's formula through stratified random sampling. In order to collect data, researcher-made questionnaires on sustainable universities and Bontis Intellectual Capital Questionnaire were used. Confirmatory factor analysis and structural equations were used to analyze the data. Results: The results of confirmatory factor analysis show that at 99% confidence level, t-values for the dimensions of the sustainable university questionnaire were out of (2.58, -2.58) range, so there was a strong positive and significant relationship between the variables of a sustainable university with all its dimensions. Conclusions: Considering the obtained results, it can be concluded that the relationship between a sustainable university and intellectual capital was positive and significant. This can be due to paying attention to the scientific nature and fruitfulness of intellectual capital and its continuous development in order to achieve one of the ultimate goals, which is sustainable development.

This study investigated the correlation between creativity and productivity among the staff of Hamadan university of medical sciences, Hamadan, Iran. Methods: This descriptive-analytical study was conducted based on a correlational and cross-sectional research approach at Hamadan university of medical sciences, Hamadan, Iran, in 2022. The sample size was estimated at 327 people based on Cochran's formula. The data were collected using Employee Productivity Questionnaire (ACHIEVE Model Hersey & Goldsmith) and Rendsip's Creativity Questionnaire. The data were analyzed in SPSS software (version 22) through descriptive statistics (frequency, percentage, and mean± SD) and inferential statistics (correlation coefficient). Results: There is a relationship between creativity and productivity of university staff. Moreover, creativity had a significant effect on productivity components. Regarding the productivity levels, ability and understanding, motivation and credibility, as well as organizational support, feedback, and adaptation, ranked the first, last, and average, respectively. Abstract:

Background and Objective: Health literacy has a potential impact on people's health and quality of life and reduces the cost of health care. Therefore, considering the importance of health literacy and its role in individuals' health, the present study aimed to determine the level of health literacy and its related factors among the students of Hamadan university of medical sciences, Hamadan, Iran.Materials and Methods: This cross-sectional study was conducted on 386 students studying at Hamadan university of medical sciences in 2016. The study population was selected through multistage sampling method. The data were collected using the questionnaire of Health Literacy for Iranian Adults (HELIA) through self-report design. Data analysis was performed in SPSS software, version 21, using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, and Chi-square test. Results: According to the results, 50.5% and 3.9% of the subjects had adequate and inadequate health literacy, respectively. Internet was found to be the main modality through which the students obtained most of their information about health. In addition, health literacy was significantly associated with age, gender, marital status, faculty, and source of information (P<0.05).Conclusion: Regarding the level of health literacy in the students and the effective demographic variables, it is necessary to design and implement some interventions targeted toward the empowerment of students in the field of health literacy. Furthemore, it seems essential to provide the students with newer ways, such as web-based education, to improve their health information.
